A Message from Larry Fenton
Thank you to everyone who supported my campaign for Alabama House District 30.
Over the course of this campaign, I had the opportunity to meet citizens from across our communities, listen to their concerns, and discuss the issues that matter most to working families, veterans, retirees, and small business owners.
While this campaign has come to a close, the principles that inspired it remain unchanged: honest government, accountability, environmental stewardship, support for veterans, and a commitment to putting people ahead of special interests.
This campaign also highlighted the significant barriers that average citizens face when seeking public office. The complicated nature of gerrymandering has made it increasingly difficult for ordinary citizens to gain access to the ballot. District boundaries often ignore established city and county lines, sometimes following natural barriers such as rivers or mountains, while in other cases dividing existing communities in ways that can be difficult for voters to understand and navigate.
In my view, both the electoral process and the redistricting process deserve careful review and reform. Citizens should have a meaningful opportunity to challenge the status quo and compete for public office on a level playing field. A healthy democracy depends upon competitive elections, transparent rules, and systems that encourage accountability to the people.
I am grateful to every volunteer, supporter, voter, and citizen who took the time to participate in this effort. Your encouragement, ideas, and dedication made this campaign worthwhile.
Although this website will no longer be actively updated as a campaign site, I remain committed to civic engagement and to advocating for the issues that affect our communities.
Thank you for your support and for your continued involvement in our democracy.
Respectfully,
Larry Fenton
Thanks and God bless!
